Ted Miller serves as the Interim Executive Director of the Whitman-Walker Foundation. The Foundation, which has it owns board of directors and 501 (c)(3) designation, uses community-based philanthropy to ensure sustainability and support growth for all Whitman-Walker companies.

Miller brings to the role more than two decades of experience as a leader in reconfiguring systems and creating new ways of doing business that get results.

As a senior executive at the Cancer Support Community, Ted spearheaded a $2 million partnership with Airbnb that secured free housing for 3,000 patients traveling for cancer treatment. He also worked with a Fortune 500 company executive to establish a nationwide financial assistance fund that has provided $1 million in relief for nearly 1,000 families.

Appointed to lead external affairs at AmeriCorps, Ted secured a spot in the competitive President’s Leadership Workshop, an invitation-only leadership program that culminated in a session with President Obama. His background also includes senior roles for the congressional offices of Sherrod Brown and Tom Daschle, and NARAL Pro-Choice America.

In 2022, he launched a consulting practice that focuses on change management and organizational leadership. His clients include the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Chicago Suburbs, KAMA DC, Food Research & Action Center, and the Northeast Business Group on Health.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Miller has served as a member of the board of trustees for the Point Foundation and the Victory Fund Campaign Board. A graduate of the University of Kansas, he earned a certificate in organization leadership and change management from Georgetown University. He and his husband reside in the Logan Circle neighborhood.
